How ICCD Reaches the Deaf

When ICCD enters a country with the goal of getting the gospel to the deaf, we meet with pastors and leaders of evangelical denominations to share with them the needs of the deaf. Approximately 1% of their population are deaf who have never heard the name of Jesus Christ. We show the leaders several methods they can use to share the love of God with this unreached people group. Should these leaders be interested, ICCD seeks to help them develop an effective ministry to the deaf. Because a deaf person cannot physically hear the gospel message, sign language is a crucial tool in ministering to them. Since little is done in most countries to teach the deaf, ICCD begins by teaching them sign language. We utilize the following methods:
