Hurricane Matthew Update

October 6, 2016

Your heartfelt concern and prayers for our precious brothers and sisters in Cuba and the Bahamas have meant so much.  Israel & Loida in Cuba and  Tali and Kayla in the Bahamas tell us there has been terrible property damage but no loss of life reported in their areas from Hurricane Matthew.

Communications are still limited, but Kayla and Tali have reported tree damage at their apartment as well as much damage sustained at the church. They are checking on the Deaf. A lot of destruction occurred throughout Nassau and the Family Islands. Clean up has begun, and will be ongoing for a while.

Israel & Loida, our Cuban team Directors are safe, but the destruction in the Baracoa area is devastating for a people who have already suffered for so long. When the meager possessions you have are destroyed, life becomes even more challenging. Pray as they reach out to the Deaf with the love and hope of Christ, and that desperate need for the necessities of life will be met.

Should you want to help our brothers and sisters in these devastated countries as they begin to recover, please contact us at 540-525-9696 or dturner@iccd.net   We are establishing a Hurricane Matthew Fund to help these deaf Believers rebuild their lives.  Thank you again for your prayers and concerns that have meant so much.
